After at the end of May, I managed to see myself, in a very nice weekend getaway, with the Laudoniu family, at their 'home', in Isverna, another weekend on the mountain followed, this time with Matei, due to a request received through Himalaya Travel. in Piatra Mare.
A group of 7 ladies who, most of them do not go to the mountains often or not at all, decided to go hiking, as part of the preparation for an ascent on the top of Kilimanjaro, in July. Matei proposed the route, I just responded to the request received from our colleagues from Himalaya Travel, to accompany the group. I was requested 😛
The route starts from Dâmbu Mori to the 7 Stairs Canyon (a spectacular route arranged with stairs, which crosses the canyon upstream), which we want to follow, on our way to Piatra Mare hut and then to the peak of the same name, with altitude of 1843 m. Being a Sunday there was a lot of people, although the canyon was closed. We climbed the route that passes by the canyon and after about 3 hours we reached the hut. It's a small and chic, with hospitable people and good food, which we warmly recommend.
The route took us to the top of Piatră Mare, from where the view delighted us with a variety of mountains and human settlements. We made the descent on the so-called Family Road, a route that is easy, but quite long. The time of the entire route was about 9 hours.
